According to Bollywood rumours, Homi Adajania has been cast in his upcoming film, Murder Mubarak. As per reports in Mid Day, the leading parts in the thriller are played by Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Janhvi Kapoor. While Pankaj will portray a cop, Aditya will be seen as a lawyer, and Janhvi will play the stereotypical rich girl.
The strange story was based on Anuja Chauhan's Club You to Death, which is about the murder of a personal trainer in a fancy Delhi club on the day of that city's presidential elections. The film's preparations have already started, and shooting is scheduled to start in Delhi next month.
This will be Dimple's third project with the filmmaker, following Cocktail (2012) and Being Cyrus (2005).
Angrezi Medium was Adajania's last movie as a director. Irrfan Khan, who passed away in 2020, and Radhika Madan were in the lead roles. The 2020 release also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan in an extended cameo appearance.
The filmmaker is also making his web series debut with Saas Bahu Aur Cocaine, which features Madan in the lead role. The series will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar, and the shoot recently wrapped.
The series Saas Bahu Aur Cocaine focuses on women involved in the drug trade. The actor will play the younger member of a family in Kutch that looks like it runs an embroidery business but is actually the biggest cocaine cartel in the area. Even the guys in the family who work abroad and only visit once or twice a year are unaware of how the ladies operate the drug business.
In 2021, a source told Peeping Moon that it was intended for Madan to appear in this series. When Adajania asked her to be in Saas Bahu Aur Cocaine, she said yes right away because he had created a character just for her in Angrezi Medium and wanted to see what else she could do as an actor. The actor is completely prepared for the demanding role that calls for a different kind of thinking.
