Since the time Om Raut announced Adipurush, the fans have been waiting to watch the mythological drama on the big screen. The much-anticipated film 2023 features Prabhas in the titular role of Raghava, along with Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, and Sunny Singh as Laxman. After a long wait, the teaser of Adipurush is set to be unveiled during the ongoing Navratri 2022 on October 2, 2022.

Raut took to his social media pages and made the announcement. He shared photos posing with Prabhas, Kriti, and T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar. The caption read, "Our magical journey is now yours to experience & love! The much awaited #AdipurushTeaser and the first poster of our film will be launched on Oct. 2! Venue - Bank Of Sarayu, Ayodhya, UP #Adipurush releases IN CINEMAS on January 12, 2023 in IMAX & 3D!"

Raghava, the king of Ayodhya, travels to the island of Lanka to save his wife, Janaki, who was kidnapped by Lankesh, the king of Lanka, 7000 years ago.

Telugu and Hindi versions as well as dubbed versions in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and numerous other Indian and other languages are all planned for release.

As per Variety, Adipurush is Raut's interpretation of the Ramayana, an Indian mythical epic that has been widely adapted for film and television in that country, including a series that aired on the state broadcaster Doordarshan for a number of years. The Prince of Light, an anime adaptation of the epic by Japanese filmmaker Yugo Sako, was screened at the Mumbai Film Festival in the early 2000s, and this is where Raut got the concept for the movie.

The filmmaker once said that he was enthralled. This is the proper method to tell the story—succinct and accurate, but one still cares about the characters and wants Prabhu Ram to succeed. The film was also very kid-friendly and up-to-date. The lessons and everything else were presented in a very straightforward manner, rather than being overly complicated, dull, boring, or tedious.
