On May 1, 2024, Sanjay Leela Bhansali made his debut in the digital world with his big project - Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Although the show was appreciated by most of the viewers, Bhansali's niece and actor Sharmin Segal became the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons as she was massively trolled for her acting. Now, Adhyayan Suman, who is also a part of the show recently spoke about the criticism she has been receiving.

Sharmin played the role of Alamzab in Heeramandi and has been criticized and trolled for her performance in the show. Speaking about the same, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Adhyayan advised Sharmin to not live in a bubble and accept reality.

He said, “I think it’s very important to not live in a bubble. It’s very important to accept any sort of reality, not just Heeramandi, per se. It’s very important to understand who you are, it’s very important to understand whether you have it in you to fight the next 15-2o years. It’s important for you to not lie to yourself.” 

He further said that if she is being criticised for her performance then she should come out and speak to people about it. "The audiences are very gentle, they’ll give you another chance if they feel you’ve worked hard,” he added.

Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar revolves around the lives of courtesans of Heera Mandi, Nawabs, and British officers in the era of 1920s-1940s. It is set against the backdrop of the Indian independence revolution against British colonialism. The show stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal Mehta, Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, and Taha Shah Badussha. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, it is currently streaming on Netflix. 

The makers of the show recently announced the second season of the show. Sharing the video, the makers wrote: "Mehfil phir se jamegi, Heeramandi: Season 2 jo aayega 🌹✨"
