Ishwak Singh has embraced the horror genre after capturing audiences' hearts with his performance in hit television shows like Pataal Lok and Rocket Boys. Adhura, his most recent offering, is a horror web series. On July 7, the Prime Video series started streaming. Prior to that, Ishwak had an exclusive chat with OTTplay during which he talked about his show Adhura and his journey in the industry.
While discussing if he is scared of the fact that people in India still prefer Hollywood over Hindi horror content, Ishwak Singh said, “As an actor, I have to tell the story honestly. It’s just the guts and belief in the honesty, why should I get overwhelmed by the mammoth institute of Bollywood or another industry when I know that I have my feet here.”
When asked about his journey in the films and OTT space, the actor revealed, “At every stage I’ve felt very thankful towards the industry, the makers, who had faith in me across the genres, be a part of different stories. So this (Adhura) is something that’s really personal to me. When you play a character you need to understand him and you know think about someone in your life who’s like that but here I didn’t have to go anywhere because it’s all me, from start to end, it’s all me. So it’s very very personal to me.”
Adhura is produced by Emmay Entertainment and directed by Gauravv K Chawla and Ananya Banerjee. Along with Rasika Dugal, Shrenik Arora, Ishwak Singh and Rahul Dev playing significant roles, it also stars Poojan Chhabra, Rijul Ray, Zoa Morani, Sahil Salathia, and Aru Krishansh Verma as high school friends.
