Actor Vijay Raghavendra's wife Spandana passes away due to heart attack in Bangkok

Popular actor and reality TV judge Vijay Raghavendra's wife Spandana passed away in Bangkok on Monday, August 7. According to the latest reports, Spandana has travelled to Thailand on a holiday with friends and family, where she is said to have encountered low blood pressure issues and also suffered a fatal cardiac arrest. 

The same reports also reveal that her husband Vijay Raghavendra is at the hospital currently and is overseeing the relevant formalities. Spandana's father (former police officer BK Shivaram) and brother are now said to be on their way to Bangkok from Mangaluru. Her mortal remains will be brought back to Bengaluru tomorrow, August 8, add the reports.

According to Asianet news, Spandana collapsed suddenly while she was returning to her hotel room in Thailand, where she was on a shopping trip along with her friends. She would be rushed to a hospital nearby but, unfortunately, but could not be saved.

Vijay Raghavendra and Spandana tied the knot back in August of 2007 and their 16th wedding anniversary is only a couple of weeks away from now. The couple has a son and a daughter.

Though she has stayed away from the arclights all her life, Spandana did make a special appearance in a 2016 film named Apoorva. She is also said to have produced a film named 'Kismat'.

Her sudden passing has surely come as a huge shocker to the entire Kannada film fraternity and condolences have come pouring in soon after the news broke out. Of course, many would know that Vijay Raghavendra is the son of film producer S. A. Chinne Gowda and the nephew of the late Dr. Rajkumar, and also the cousin of actors Shiva Rajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar and the late Powerstar Puneeth Rajkumar. His own brother is fellow Kannada actor Srii Murali.

Spandana's demise due to a cardiac arrest would be the second untimely occurrence in the Dr. Rajkumar household in recent times. Not very long ago, on October 29th, 2021, Puneeth Rajkumar succumbed to a cardiac arrest and cast a massive shadow of grief on the people of Karnataka.
