Abhishek Bachchan took to Instagram on February 5 and shared that he has begun work on a new film Ghoomer in Mahabaleshwar.
The actor, who turns 46 today, alongside a photo of a clapboard wrote that he "couldn't have asked for a better birthday present." He added that he believes "birthdays are best spent, working."
It was previously reported that the film is a cricket-based drama and will also star Saiyami Kher as the female lead. Pinkvilla had revealed last year that Bachchan will be seen as a left-handed cricketer.
However, there has been no word on the plot and other supporting actors through official channels so far.
Balki has previously worked with Bachchan's father Amitabh in Cheeni Kum (2007), Paa (2009) and Shamitabh (2015).
Bachchan was last seen in Hotstar Original film The Big Bull, based on the lift of stockbroker Harshad Mehta, and Bob Biswas (streaming on ZEE5). His upcoming film is Dasvi, a social comedy directed by Ritesh Shah and directed by Tushar Jalota. Dinesh Vijan is producing via Maddock Films.
Meanwhile, Balki had wrapped production on thriller Chup: Revenge of the Artist, which he described as an ode to Guru Dutt, in October. Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt, Dulquer Salmaan and Shreya Dhanwanthary are in the cast.
