Dua Lipa recently made headlines after she performed her song Levitating mashed up with the hit Indian song Wo Ladki Jo Sabse Alag Hai. The song is from Shah Rukh Khan's film Baadshah and is sung by Abhijeet Bhattacharya. The mashup has been one of the most trending ones in India. When the singer performed it live, the video from the concert took the internet by storm. However, this did not go well with Jay Bhattacharya and he slammed the singer for not giving credit to his dad. Amid this, now Abhijeet has also reacted to the row.
After Jay Bhattacharya penned a long message on social media for not giving credit to his father for the song, now Abhijeet has reacted to the controversy around the viral Levitating x Woh Ladki Jo mashup. In a chat with News18 Showsha, the singer said, “When Dua Lipa was performing, was she singing the song? Was she dancing to the song? People were shocked in the stadium when they heard a sound. They could not see the video. They heard the song. The war started right there." He further added that Dua did not say anything and argued that she did not know that the singer, dancer, writer, and producers of the song were different.
The musician further said that he is the biggest fan of Shah Rukh Khan and mentioned that the fight is between an actor's fans and those of the singer. He said that besides being a fan of the actor, he is also a critic. "He is also my fan. We are each other’s fans. Some people are giving him the credit for the viral song and others think I should get the credit. I am very happy," he said.
Abhijeet added that while some fans are loyal to him, some are loyal to SRK and they do not care about this. He is just happy that the song is doing very well and the credit for the same does not bother him. However, he does believe that Dua Lipa should have given credit to the singers during her concert in Mumbai. "Dua Lipa should have said it (given credit). She also creates songs. Anu Malik, Javed Akhtar and I, created this song," he said.
Concluding the topic, Abhijeet Bhattacharya said that he doesn't care who Dua Lipa is but when she sang the song in Mumbai, he was flooded with calls. "She cannot even name anyone, pronunciation would be wrong. What difference does it make? On the contrary, it made the song even more popular. It was popular before and it is popular even today," the singer said.
