Aasif Khan shares about his bond with Kakuda co-star Sonakshi Sinha, refers to her as his rakhi sister

Aasif Khan, who was recently seen in Jitendra Kumar's Panchayat Season 3 is all set for his upcoming film titled Kakuda. The film stars Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saqib Saleem in the lead roles. The movie is set for a direct release on the OTT platform. As the film is gearing up for its release, Aasif gave an insight into his bond with the cast of the film and also shed light on his relationship with the newly married actress Sonakshi Sinha.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Aasif revealed that he shares a special bond with the entire cast of the film. He said, "During our Kakuda shoot in 2021, I was quite nervous in the first 4 to 5 days. Riteish sir, Sonakshi, and Saqib Saleem might have known each other. After each shot, everyone used to sit behind the monitor. But I used to wonder what should I talk about?"

He further added that he did not have much to talk about as Sonakshi, Riteish, and Saqib used to talk about their work experiences. However, when they started shooting outdoors, he said that they became friends naturally.

Asif Khan on his special relationship with Sonakshi Sinha

Asif also revealed that he refers to Sonakshi as his sister. He shared a small incident about how this happened and said that during Raksha Bandhan when Sona couldn't go home, he could sense the sadness on her face so he wrote a poem for her on Rakhi and sent it to her. He then revealed, "So, she texted me asking where I was. I told her I was in my room. She said come quickly. So, when I went, she had kept the Rakhi prepared and that is how we became brother and sister.”

Set for a direct-to-OTT release, Kakuda is directed by Munjya fame director Aditya Sarpotdar. The film is a horror comedy that stars Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, Saqib Saleem, and Aasif Khan in the lead roles. The film is all set to release on ZEE5 and you can also watch it on OTTplay Premium with the subscription. The horror-comedy is set to hit streaming on July 9, 2024.
