Aashram 3: Bobby Deol reveals how people told him ‘pyare lag rahe ho’ even after playing a negative role in the series

Bobby Deol will be back as the dreaded Baba Nirala for another exciting new season of Aashram. But despite his wicked character, it seems fans were able to spot Deol’s charm shine through even on the show. The actor recently revealed the strange reactions he got from some people about his character on the show.

In conversation with Bollywood Hungama Deol talked about how he did not realise how popular the series would become when he started working on it. Deol said that he knew people would like the how due to its interesting story, but was unprepared for the amount of love he received. The actor revealed that even though he had portrayed such a negative character as Baba Nirala people still came up to him and said “Bahut pyare lag rahe ho iss show mein”. “It's the most amazing compliment to get”, he said.

Deol also opened up about the criticisms directed at the show, and said that despite the negative comments, Ashram was made ‘responsibly’. The show had over a billion viewers and Deol talked about how if there were ten people who had a negative opinion, there would be a hundred thousand people who had something good to say about the show.

In addition to Deol, the show also stars Aaditi Pohankar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Darshan Kumaar, Anupria Goenka, Adhyayan Suman, Tridha Choudhury, Vikram Kochhar, Tushar Pandey, Anuritta Jha, Rajeev Siddhartha, Parinitaa Seth, Tanmay Ranjan, Preeti Sood, Jahangir Khan, Kanupriya Gupta and Navdeep Tomar in pivotal roles. The series is directed by Prakash Jha.

Aashram 3 will be available to stream on MX Player from June 3, 2022.
