Kartik Aaryan's Aashiqui 3 has been in buzz for a while now. An official announcement of the film was made in 2023. The third installment of Aashiqui will be helmed by Anurag Basu. Recently, when Tara Sutaria was spotted with Kartik in the city, it was speculated that she was finalised as the female lead. However, there is no truth to the rumour.
Tara Sutaria is not a part of Aashiqui 3
As of now, no Bollywood actress has come on board as the female lead of Aashiqui 3. When Hindustan Times contacted Anurag Basu, the filmmaker said, "No, the female lead of the film has not been finalised yet. Everything out there is a speculation."
Further, when he was specifically asked about Tara, the director added, "No. No one has been finalised."

Kartik had shared Aashiqui 3's announcement video on his Instagram handle. On September 5 (2022), the actor captioned his IG post, "Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum Zeher Zindagi Ka Pi Lenge Hum Aashiqui3 This one is going to be Heart-wrenching !! My First with Basu Da (sic)."
For the unversed, Aashiqui 3 is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Mukesh Bhatt.
What's next for Tara Sutaria?
Meanwhile, Tara is gearing up for her OTT debut. The actress will be seen in Nikhil Nagesh Bhat's Apurva. The movie is ready to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on November 15, 2023. The character posters of this OTT film are out. Sutaria will share screen space with Abhishek Banerjee and Rajpal Yadav.
On the work front for Kartik
As for Kartik, the actor will next be seen in Chandu Champion. It is his first professional collaboration with filmmaker Kabir Khan. He has been shooting for the movie for a while now. The actor underwent a transformation for his character in the movie. It is slated to release in June 2024.
Apart from this, the actor has Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 lined up in the pipeline. However, there's no latest update on the horror-comedy as yet. He played a pivotal role in the second installment of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, directed by Anees Bazmee.
