It was in the first half of 2023 that Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen suffered a major heart attack. The actress underwent an angioplasty and stent placement at a hospital in Mumbai. By God's grace, she recovered and was soon back to work. All of this happened while the shoot of Ram Madhvani's Aarya 3 was on. Recently, when OTTplay interviewed the filmmaker, he lauded Sushmita for being a strong person.

Ram Madhvani on Sushmita Sen's recovery after a heart attack

In an exclusive conversation with OTTplay, Ram Madhvani was asked if got the feeling of uncertainty around Aarya 3's shoot when Sushmita Sen suffered a major heart attack.

To this, the filmmaker shared, "We are grateful that she recovered. Literally in two weeks, she was on some fashion show. I also spoke to her and said 'You are doing a fashion show'. Sushmita is so strong and I am happy that she is there and we didn't get affected. It was like a big relief to us and I am just grateful for that."

Ram further went down memory lane and recalled that he was very happy when Sushmita agreed to do the series. "Because I can't imagine anybody who could be right for it," said Madhvani. And later, when the actress asked Ram as to how she should play Aarya, he said, "Just be Sushmita Sen."

In this installment, Sushmita's character Aarya will lock horns with Ila Arun's character Nalini Sa, who is an equally strong and fierce woman. The story will unfold tomorrow with Aarya Antim Vaar premiering on Disney+ Hotstar.

For those who are unaware, the first season of Aarya was released in 2020. The Ram Madhvani series marked Sushmita's OTT debut. Ever since, she has been leading the show for three seasons now.
