Aamir Khan has been shooting for his upcoming movie, Sitaare Zameen Par, for a while now. The Bollywood actor recently shared that the team is trying to make an effort to release the film around Christmas this year. In several media interactions, Aamir stated that Sitaare Zameen Par is going to be an entertaining film. Now, it has been learned that the movie will shed light on Down Syndrome.
According to a Hindustan Times report, Aamir Khan wanted to bring focus on another health condition that gets stigmatised in society through his film Sitaare Zameen Par. "That’s when he found a heartfelt story that sheds light on Down Syndrome and what people dealing with that go through," a source told the publication.
For the uninitiated, Aamir's 2007 film Taare Zameen Par highlighted on the struggle of a child suffering from dyslexia. As far as Sitaare Zameen Par's subject of Down Syndrome is concerned, the actor wants to sensitively handle it. He wants the movie to create an impact that makes people suffering from Down Syndrome be treated as equals.
Last year, at the News18 event, Aamir Khan revealed how different or similar is Sitaare Zameen Par to his 2007 movie Taare Zameen Par with Darsheel Safary. The actor mentioned that while TZP made everyone emotional, his upcoming movie will make people laugh. And while Taare Zameen Par made the audience cry, Sitaare Zameen Par intends to entertain the masses. "The theme is the same. That’s why we kept this name very thoughtfully," he said.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan backed his ex-wife Kiran Rao's directorial venture Laapata Ladies. The actor extensively promoted his production venture with Kiran across a few cities including Mumbai. The actor's last theatrical release was Laal Singh Chaddha, wherein he worked with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Naga Chaitanya.
