Aamir Khan's film Laal Singh Chaddha was one of the highly anticipated movies in 2022. Fans had pinned high hopes on the Advait Chandan directorial. But the film didn't live up to the audiences' expectations. Also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh, Laal Singh Chaddha was an Indian adaptation of Tom Hanks' 1994 film Forrest Gump. Recently, on Rhea Chakraborty's Chapter 2 podcast, Aamir reflected on the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha.

Aamir Khan spoke to Rhea Chakraborty about how Laal Singh Chaddha's failure hit him hard. The perfectionist of Bollywood said, "When Laal Singh Chaddha didn't work, mujhe bohot bada dhakka mila (it hit me hard). I was shaken emotionally because we put our heart and soul into making that film."
Further, when Rhea said his five to six films worked before Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir mentioned that his 2018 film Thugs Of Hindostan also didn't work. The actor admitted he didn't find the Vijay Krishna Acharya film to be good. "When Thugs of Hindostan was made, mujhe bhi theek nahi lagi thi (I didn't like it). I had discussions with Adi and Victor but they liked the film. But it was a teamwork. We went wrong in that one," said Aamir.
Following Thugs of Hindostan's failure, Aamir said he took his performance pitch higher in Laal Singh Chaddha. He also revealed the reason why Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump was successful. "The original one was successful. The reason was that though the writing structure was not for the mainstream, but Tom Hanks' performance was so brilliant that he pulled you with him," added Khan.
On this note, when Rhea tried to talk about Aamir's performance, the actor stated, "My performance let the film down. My performance wasn't good. This is my reading. I've learned a lot from it. My performance will hopefully be better in the next film."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Aamir is working on his upcoming project, Sitaare Zameen Par. He will be seen with Genelia Deshmukh in the movie.
