Aamir Khan hints his next film after Sitaare Zameen Par will be Andaz Apna Apna 2 directed by Rajkumar Santoshi

Aamir Khan celebrated his 59th birthday with the media earlier in the day. The actor, as always, spilled some details about his next film but this time, it was on Instagram during a live session. It looks like his next movie after Sitaare Zameen Par will be Andaz Apna Apna 2. The movie will be helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi, who had helmed the original film as well.

What Aamir said

“Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi is working on the script of Andaz Apna Apna 2,” he revealed to the media. The further added that the project is at the nascent stage and thus, it is too early to get excited about it.

Aamir, obviously, did not spill any more details on the movie. The film originally starred him opposite Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon as the female leads. Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor also played iconic characters named Teja and Crime Master Gogo respectively.

A flop which became a cult

When Andaz Apna Apna released in theatres on November 4, 1994, the movie was declared a flop. It failed to collect the Box Office numbers as expected. Over the years, the movie connected with people and today, it has received the cult status. It is one of the funniest films in the history of Indian cinema with some iconic scenes and dialogues.

Of Sitaare Zameen Par

Aamir is finally making his Bollywood comeback with Sitaare Zameen Par. He had taken a break after Laal Singh Chaddha, which was the official remake of Forrest Gump. The movie released two years back, in 2022. Sitaare Zameen Par, which is touted to be the sequel of Taare Zameen Par, will release in December this year. Like Laal Singh Chaddha and many Aamir Khan movies, this film will also release around Christmas.
