After a shelved show that he was set to star in, created by his Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na director Abbas Tyrewala, the news on the internet said that he will now be the leading man in Vir Das’ directorial debut titled Happy Patel.
Yes, you read that right. If the reports are to be believed, Imran is making his silver screen comeback with his Delhi Belly co-star Vir’s first directorial venture, which will be set in Goa. This is a crossover in many ways considering two co-stars meeting in a different capacity, and Vir Das was a part of the iconic Go Goa Gone, which was also set in Goa. Imran Khan’s Comeback Update
Filming for Happy Patel has already begun in Goa, and the film is written, directed, and co-produced by Vir Das. Aamir Khan is backing the movie with his production house. That is not all. The actor, who is now busy with Sitare Zameen Par, will also be making a cameo in the movie that stars his nephew in the lead. Said to be an outrageous plot, the film will feature Aamir as a don in a special appearance. Imran and Aamir will be sharing the screen for the first time.
As per Peeping Moon, Happy Patel is a satirical spy comedy inspired by the American film series Austin Powers. “It’s a spy film with a dash of comic touch and explores an untapped and brand new terrain in Bollywood cinema. Imran will be playing a secret agent in this film, alongside Vir Das, who is also directing, writing, and co-producing it. This is a fun entertainer packed with comedy, action, drama, and lots of twists, much like their highly acclaimed black comedy, Delhi Belly,” said a source close to the development.
Cast Of Happy Patel
Happy Patel, alongside Imran Khan and Aamir Khan (in a cameo), will also feature Mona Singh and Mithila Palkar in pivotal roles. The film will mark popular musician Ash King’s acting debut. The source has also shared that Aamir Khan has started shooting for his portion already in Goa and is expected to finish the shoot today. There are no more details available at the moment.
