Aalta Phoring tops as Neem Phuler Modhu is set to begin its journey

Zee Bangla will soon introduce Neem Phuler Modhu with Pallabi, Rubel, and Arijita. But will this mean an end to the popular serial Mithai? The speculation is in full swing that the introduction of the new serial may occupy the slot of Soumitrisha and Adrit’s serial. The TRP of Mithai has been plummeting for a few weeks now. It has gone down below the fifth position. 

However, Soumitrisha – the heroine of Mithai – refuted the rumour in a recent interview. She said, “TRP doesn’t decide serials. Many serials have low ratings but the content is good. It largely depends on luck. We used to be the topper but that does not ensure that we shall remain the topper for the rest of our life. We didn't start the journey to be the topper.   

Meanwhile, Aalta Phoring of Star Jalsha surprised everybody and topped this week’s TRP list. It rose from the fourth position last week to the top. More surprisingly, Zee Bangla’s Jagaddhatri beat Star Jalsha’s Gnatchora which is bad news for the fans of Khori and Riddhi. It is assumed that Jagaddhatri, which is just one month old, will eventually be the Bengal topper. 

Dhulokona slides down to the 4th position. Phuljhuri now knows that Lalan is alive, and Lalan starts recollecting his lost memory. This creates a slight thrill in the audience. But it is evident that the same pattern will not click for a long time. Gnatchora suffers from the same problem – lack of novelty in the plot. 

Presently the two lowest-ranking Zee Bangla serials are Bodhisatter Bodhbuddhi and Uran Tubri, both having a TRP rating of 3.7. Godhuli Alap, with a rating of 3.1, is the lowest in Star Jalsha. Already a new serial, Neem Phuler Modhu, has been announced in Zee Bangla, and it remains to be seen which of the low-rating serials it will replace.
