Aadujeevitham, the most anticipated Malayalam film, is set to hit the big screens on Friday, March 28. The survival drama, which marks the first collaboration between Prithviraj Sukumaran and senior director Blessy, is getting released after a 16-year-long wait. The cast and crew members are now busy promoting the much-awaited project, which is set to get a pan-Indian release. Meanwhile, leading man Prithviraj Sukumaran reacted to the comparisons between Aadujeevitham and Dhanush's Maryan.
In a recent interview with the Red FM YouTube channel, Prithviraj Sukumaran finally reacted to the comparisons between his survival drama Aadujeevitham and the Dhanush-starrer Maryan, which was released in 2013. Interestingly, the actor, who plays Najeeb in Aadujeevitham, revealed that Blessy planned the film with him long before director Bharat Bala's Maryan was even conceptualised. He also pointed out that Benyamin’s Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life), the novel on which their film is based, was released in 2008.
With this major revelation, Prithviraj Sukumaran has now finally put an end to the Tamil media and audiences’ doubts about his upcoming film’s theme. Malayalam cinema audiences have always been well aware of Benyamin’s literary work and director Blessy’s 16-year-long journey of making it into a film. However, Tamil viewers feel that the film has been inspired by Maryan, the Dhanush starrer that is the survival story of a Tamil villager who migrated to Sudan.
The Blessy directorial revolves around Najeeb Muhammed, an underwater miner who migrated to Saudi Arabia for a better job, only to get forced into slavery. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays Najeeb in Aadujeevitham, became a part of the project in 2009 while he was filming for the blockbuster movie, Pokkiri Raja. However, Amala Paul, who appears in the role of Najeeb's wife Sainu in the movie, joined the project in 2018.
Aadujeevitham has already created the cine-goers and music lovers, with the soulful compositions by the Oscar award-winning musician, AR Rahman. From the promotional videos which are now going viral on social media, it is safe to assume that the Prithviraj starter is going to be a never-seen-before visual extravaganza for Malayalam cinema audiences. The survival drama is slated to hit the big screens in five languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
