Crazy Fellow, Aadi Saikumar's fourth release in this calendar year after Athithi Devobhava, Tees Maar Khan and Black, releases in theatres today. Written and directed by Phani Krishna Siriki, the film is a comedy entertainer bankrolled by popular producer KK Radhamohan under Sri Sathya Sai Arts. Digangana Suryavanshi, Mirnaa Menon play the female leads in the project. Ahead of its release, Aadi spoke to the media about the breezy entertainer and why it'll be a welcome break for him.
"We're very excited about Crazy Fellow. Phani came up with a good story that'll appeal to all audiences and the comedy is clean and organic. KK Radhamohan liked it immensely and produced it on a lavish scale. I can assure you the film has some magic in it. I play a guy who's always in a hurry and lands in a soup later. Anish Kuruvilla, Narra Srinivas too play important roles and most of the characters come with a lot of freshness," the Prema Kavali actor said.
The film's director Phani was keen to present Aadi in a new stylish look. "I had worked with a stylist Ram for Prema Kavali. We reunited for Crazy Fellow yet again. Many people keep asking me to do films like Prema Kavali and Lovely again - Crazy Fellow belongs to that space." He is all praise for the female leads Mirnaa and Digangana. "Both of them are very talented have interesting characters. Digangana is a fine performer and Mirnaa works hard to get her part right."
In terms of comedy timing, Phani was very particular about how his actors utter their dialogues and pushed them hard to get the slang right and Aadi believes the efforts have paid off. "I am very satisfied with RR Dhruvan's music. He's a good lyricist too and all the songs have shaped up well. From the songs to dialogues to the casting, a lot of aspects worked in favour of Crazy Fellow and that's why we're confident about it. It's hilarious and also has a strong emotion."
Given a choice, Aadi prefers to take up realistic films and is particularly happy with how his film Operation Goldfish has aged. "Next Nuvve gets me good responses too and I enjoyed working for Tees Maar Khan." His dad and actor Sai Kumar keeps offering him suggestions with scripts from time to time but there have been occasions where he made his own decisions too.
"I made a few mistakes by doing a few films without taking dad's opinion and paid the price. He asks me to listen to scripts carefully and judges a story well. I ought to be more conscious with my choices in the long run. My next releases are Top Gear, CSI Sanatan. I have finished shooting for my web series Puli Meka recently. There are several projects in the pipeline and will be announced officially soon," he added.
