Aadi Saikumar is trying hard to regain lost ground after a flurry of flops. The actor is yet to taste a full-fledged commercial success after Lover and Prema Kaavali. While his February 2021 release Sashi failed to set the cash registers ringing, he now tries his luck in a cop avatar with Black. Former Bigg Boss winner Kaushal Manda, rapper (turned actor) Pranav Chaganty and Amani play crucial roles in the film directed by GB Krishna and produced by Mahankali Diwakar. Darshana Banik is cast as the leading lady in Black, which promises to be a full-on action fare with some delectable dialogue baazi. The film's teaser was released earlier today.
The teaser has the protagonist, a cop, coming up with a few mythical references while elaborating on a few challenges associated with his profession and finding the culprit behind a case he's currently investigating. Black takes you through a series of baddies trying to outsmart the protagonist though the latter is in no mood to rest until he finds answers. The cop here strictly means business and prefers to let his 'actions' do the talking. Aadi Saikumar sticks to his strengths in a massy avatar where he appears a natural.
There's also a brief mention of director Puri Jagannadh in a dialogue that loosely translates to, 'Do I look like a hero in a Puri Jagannath film who'll try to impress the heroine with a dialogue or two and fight out the goons? I'll rather show what's in store for you now.' There's not much in the teaser for the viewer to decode the story though it's clear that filmmaker GB Krishna is readying a feast for action junkies. Prudhvi Raj, Satyam Rajesh, Thagubothu Ramesh essay supporting roles in Black which has music by Suresh Bobbili. The technical team also comprises cinematographer Satish Muthyala, editor Amar Reddy. Meanwhile, Aadi Saikumar is next working on Jungle, Kirathaka and Amaran in the City: Chapter 1.
