Filmmaker Mohana Krishna Indraganti, who teamed up with Sudheer Babu for films like Sammohanam, V, joined hands with the actor again for Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali recently. Uppena, Shyam Singha Roy-fame actress Krithi Shetty played the lead role in the project. B Mahendra Babu and Kiran Ballapalli had bankrolled the film under Benchmark Studios in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers. The film had released in theatres on September 16. Now, the relationship drama is out on OTT.

Amazon Prime Video acquired the streaming rights for its post-theatrical release. Avasarala Srinivas, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar and Kalyani Natarajan play other prominent roles in the drama. Vivek Sagar had composed the tunes for the film which had cinematography by PG Vinda. Sahi Suresh was the art director while the film was edited by Marthand K Venkatesh. Gajulapalle Sudheer Babu had presented the film and Kota Suresh Kumar was the co-director.

The film is about a commercially successful director Naveen, who is looking to reinvent himself. When in need of creative inspiration, he spots a box of film reels that helps him discover an aspirant actress with great potential. Soon, he realises the girl is a doctor - Alekhya, who has a very low opinion of the industry and doesn't care for films. However, he is determined to cast her in his next film, come what may. However, there’s another side to Alekhya and his family that he isn’t aware of.

For the first time in her career, Krithi Shetty played a double role essaying the roles of twin daughters born to an upper-middle class conservative family. While she received rave reviews for her performance, Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali generally opened to unfavourable responses from audiences and media alike and performed poorly at the box office. Noted music label Saregama had bagged its audio rights.
