Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A is at the fag end of its theatrical shelf life and is only available at a select few multiplex screens. The film is, after all, streaming on Amazon Prime Video now. But the team is looking at giving it one final push and asking those who haven’t yet seen it to give it a watch in theatres tomorrow, October 13, on the occasion of National Cinema Day. If the prospect of watching a good, intense Kannada cinema is not enough, the icing on the cake is that tickets are being sold at Rs 99 only tomorrow.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, which is director Hemanth M Rao’s second film with leading man Rakshit Shetty, is a two-part tale. While the first, Side A, came out on September 1 and subsequently dropped on OTT within a month, Side B was to be in theatres next week on October 20. On the day that side A was coming to OTT, the team announced that Side B would be delayed by a week and that October 27 was the alternate date. However, with only two weeks to go, the team has not started promotions or let out any publicity material – be it a trailer of the songs. This led to speculation that Side B would be pushed further.
Earlier today, sources close to the film team told OTTplay that Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B will not be in theatres on October 27, as Hemanth is apparently still editing the film and has not frozen on a final version. Some VFX work is also pending, all of which will not be done in time for an end of month release. It is being said that the team is now eyeing Deepavali, around November 10, but even that date is slowly getting crowded with Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, Karthi’s Japan and the Kannada film Garadi.
