S Thaman will have an unusual problem for Sankranti 2023 - he's working on two of the most anticipated projects of the year in Telugu and Tamil, Veera Simha Reddy and Varisu. While the former is a mass action entertainer headlined by Balakrishna, the latter is a rooted family drama starring Vijay. The target audience Varisu and Veera Simha Reddy are different and yet, all the songs from both the films that have been launched till date, have cast a spell on audiences.
After Varisu's theme song launch, Thaman's third single from Veera Simha Reddy will be out this weekend. Titled Maa Bava Manobhavalu, the song will be launched on December 24. Calling it a 'sensational special song of the year', the composer has assured fans of delivering fireworks yet again. In a special song poster, Balakrishna, in a stylish avatar, dons a black blazer and shades, surrounded by a group of women. The title of the song certainly piques your curiosity.
The other two singles from Veera Simha Reddy were Jai Balayya and Suguna Sundari. While Jai Balayya was a typical hero-glorifying number pandering to the galleries, Suguna Sundari was a fast-paced duet featuring Balakrishna and Shruti Haasan at their energetic best. It'll be interesting to know the song situation for Maa Bava Manobhavalu as well. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Naveen Chandra, Chandrika Ravi (in a song appearance) also feature in the film marking the Telugu debut of Kannada star Duniya Vijay.
Veera Simha Reddy, directed by Gopichandh Malineni, is set to hit screens on January 12, 2023. Alongside the film, there are a handful of other releases in Telugu including Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya, Santosh Shobhan's Kalyanam Kamaneeyam, Rahul Vijay-Shivani Rajashekar starrer Vidya Vasula Aham. The Telugu version of Varisu, titled Vaarasudu, will also have a grand release in Telugu states.
