Shoojit Sircar directorial Piku, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, and Deepika Padukone has completed 9 years of release. The film is a heartwarming story about a father-daughter relationship, as they go on a road trip, with Irrfan as their cab driver. The film, which was released in 2015, is also considered as one of Deepika's best roles. To celebrate the film, Deepika shared a BTS picture on her social media on May 8.
As the film clocks 9 years today, on May 8, Deepika took to her social media account and shared a never-before-seen picture from the sets of Piku. In the picture, Irrfan can be seen eating a fruit, and Deepika is gazing at Amitabh Bachchan as he seems to be telling everyone a story looking at the platter of fruits in front of him and pointing at DP. She also mentioned how she missed the late actor Irrfan in her caption. Deepika captioned the photo, “He loves telling everyone how much I eat! @amitabhbachchanc@irrfan Oh how much we miss you…”
For the unversed, Amitabh has once spoken about the actress' eating habits and said, “Yeh haar 3 minute mein khaana khati hai (She eats food every 3 minutes).”
Earlier, in an interview with PTI, Deepika, who is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty's Singham, shared her thoughts about working with Irrfan Khan, she revealed that she was nervous to act with him and thought he might look down upon her. She said, “I thought he would be an intense actor, an intense person, everything about him is intense, courtesy media’s perception. I thought he would be stern and not interact and look down upon me for being a commercial heroine. But he is very different from that.”
Meanwhile, directed by Shoojit Sircar, Piku was written by Juhi Chaturvedi. Piku was backed by NP Singh, Ronnie Lahiri, and Sneha Rajani. It is one of the most beautiful films that portrays the bitter-sweet daughter-father relationship with a fun love angle. The film was released in theatres on May 8, 2015, and is currently available to stream on OTT on SonyLIV.
