Anurag Kashyap both directed and co-produced the 2015 historical gangster film Bombay Velvet, adapting it from historian Gyan Prakash's book Mumbai Fables. The film's main stars are Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor, and Anushka Sharma, while supporting actors include Siddhartha Basu, Vivaan Shah, Manish Choudhary, and Kay Kay Menon. Anurag Kashyap directed the 2016 neo-noir psychological crime thriller Raman Raghav 2.0, known globally as Psycho Raman. Producers Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl, and Madhu Mantena produced the film, which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vicky Kaushal, and debutante Sobhita Dhulipala.
