Movies and shows to release on OTT on January 17:

Paatal Lok Season 2 (Prime Video)

The most-awaited series, Paatal Lok is returning with its second season. Created by Sudip Sharma and directed by Avinash Arun Dhaware, the series stars Jaideep Ahlawat, and Ishwak Singh. This time, Tillotama Shome will be seen joining the cast. Jaideep and Ishwak will reprise their roles of Hathi Ram Chaudhary and Imran Ansari, respectively. Set against the backdrop of Nagaland, Inspector Hathi Ram Chaudhary, investigates a high-profile murder case, where he fights against powerful forces to unravel the truth. 

The Roshans (Netflix)

Netflix is all set to entertain the audience with its brand-new offering, The Roshans. It will showcase the legacy of Roshan Lal Nagrath, who produced timeless classics, Rakesh Roshan, Rajesh Roshan, and Hrithik Roshan. Their contribution to Indian Cinema has been immense and everything will be shown in the documentary. It is helmed by Shashi Ranjan, and celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Ameesha Patel, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and others are expected to be seen in it.

I Want To Talk (Prime Video)

Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film features Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role. It is based on the true story of Arjun Sen, a cancer survivor facing life-altering surgery as well as navigating a complex relationship with his daughter since her childhood. Despite failing at the box office, Abhishek's performance was highly appreciated by the audience and critics, alike. 

Power of Paanch (Disney+ Hotstar)

The upcoming series is backed by Ektaa Kapoor and it stars Riva Arora, Aditya Raj Arora, Jaiveer Juneja, Bianca Arora, Yash Sehgal, Urvashi Dholakia, Barkha Bisht, Tanvi Gadkari, Anubha Arora, Omar Kandhari, Sagar Dholakia, Pankaj Vishnu and Inder Bajwa, among others. The story revolves around a young girl, who is in search of her missing mother but she ends up discovering hidden family secrets and surprising confrontations filled with supernatural elements. 

I Am Kathalan (Manorama Max, OTTplay Premium)

The Malayalam film is directed by Girish A. D and it features Naslen K. Gafoor, Anishma Anilkumar, Lijomol Jose, Dileesh Pothan, Vineeth Vasudeva, Sajin Cherukayil, Vineeth Viswam, and Arjun K in key roles. The plot revolves around a young boy who tries to win back his girlfriend but his attempt turns into a dangerous game of revenge. He ends up risking everything he loves and adores. 

Hellboy: The Crooked Man (Lionsgate Play, OTTplay Premium)

The film stars Jack Kesy as Hellboy, alongside Jefferson White and Adeline Rudolph. The superhero horror film follows Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent, who find themselves stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia. They end up discovering a community of witches led by a local devil with a connection to Hellboy's past.

Harley Quinn Season 5 (JioCinema, OTTplay Premium)

The series is returning with its fifth season. It is about the adventures of Harley Quinn and her journey of self-discovery after parting ways with the Joker upon realizing that he never loved her. She plans to make a name for herself in Gotham City's criminal underworld, starting with the formation of her own crew, which consists of her best friend Poison Ivy, Clayface, Doctor Psycho, King Shark, and Sy Borgman.

Back in Action (Netflix)

Directed by Seth Gordon, the film features Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Kyle Chandler, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts, Rylan Jackson, and Glenn Close in key roles. The explosive espionage comedy flips the ex-CIA duo’s quiet life upside down when their cover gets blown. The action-packed ride is filled with humor and unexpected twists. 

Viduthalai Part 2 (ZEE5, OTTplay Premium)

The Tamil period political crime thriller film is returning with its second installment. It will star Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Bhavani Sre, Rajiv Menon, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, Saravana Subbiah, Chetan and Munnar Ramesh, and they will reprise their roles from the first part. The second part will see the additional cast including Manju Warrier, Kishore, Anurag Kashyap, Bose Venkat, Vincent Asokan, and Ken Karunas. The film follows a rookie cop who has to capture Perumal Vaathiyar, the leader of the people’s movement. The second installment will showcase Vaathiyar's backstory and how he became the leader.
