Streamed live on Lionsgate Play (OTTplay Premium), the 82nd Golden Globe Awards took place on January 6, 2025, and honoured the best in film and television. Several outstanding performances, films, and television shows were honoured at the event, which was hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser. Brady Corbet's The Brutalist took home two major awards: Best Motion Picture—Drama and Best Director. The picture's Best Actor, Adrien Brody, took home the trophy for Best Dramatic Picture, while Fernanda Torres took home the trophy for Best Actress, Dramatic Picture, for her work in I'm Still Here.
Emilia Pérez performed admirably, taking home the trophy for Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy and a supporting actress role for Zoe Saldaña for Best Supporting Actress. Best Actor (Musical or Comedy) given to Sebastian Stan for his role in A Different Man. Shōgun came out on top in the television industry, taking home numerous awards, including Best Television Series—Drama, and performance accolades for both Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai. The Bear was Jeremy Allen White's breakout role, and he was named Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical Series.
The top honours and most awards for the evening went to The Brutalist and Shōgun, two shows that showcased exceptional achievements.
