Jerrod Carmichael will host the prestigious Golden Globes Aawards 2023

The streaming platform Lionsgate Play announced on Wednesday that it would be the only place in India to watch the 80th Golden Globe Awards. According to a press release, Lionsgate Play customers nationwide can watch the annual award presentation live from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on January 11 at 6.30 am. It can also be streamed on OTTplay Premium.
The red carpet coverage of the event will start at 5.30 am. Pan-Indian blockbuster RRR will compete in the categories of best picture - non-English and best original song - motion picture (for Telugu song Naatu Naatu). In Malaysia and the Philippines, the Golden Globe Awards will also be streamed exclusively on Lionsgate Play.
According to Amit Dhanuka, executive vice president of Lionsgate, the platform is excited to add the Golden Globes to its lineup of award ceremonies, which currently includes the Emmy Awards and the American Music Awards. This follows a stellar year for Lionsgate Play in India. “The Golden Globe Awards are viewed in more than 220 countries and territories worldwide, Lionsgate Play is delighted to announce the exclusive LIVE streaming in India, Malaysia and Philippines of the prestigious event for their landmark 80th anniversary,” Amit said in a statement.

On December 12, 2022, the nominees for the 2023 Golden Globe Awards were revealed. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) presents the awards to recognise excellence in American television and film.
Niecy Nash (Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story) may become one of the first Black actors to win a Globe for any limited series thanks to her candidature among Black talent. While Jenna Ortega, the second-youngest participant in the history of the best performance by an actress in a musical or comedy series category, took second place for Wednesday. Brendan and Domhnall Gleeson, who are father and son actors and are representing Ireland at the awards this year with the films The Banshees of Inisherin and The Patient, respectively, are two more significant nominees.
This year's nominees who are all first-timers include M M Keeravani, the composer of the music for RRR, Julia Garner (Ozark), Adam Scott (Severance), Aubrey Plaza (The White Lotus), Austin Butler (Elvis), Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin), Selena Gomez (Only Murders in the Building), Zendaya (Euphoria), and Emma D'Arcy (House of the Dragon).
