76th Primetime Emmy Awards complete list of winners: The Bear, Shōgun, Hacks, Baby Reindeer bag top honours

The Emmy Awards for this year have wrapped up and surprisingly, Hacks won best comedy series. The show's lead, Jean Smart, also took home an award for best actress in a comedy series.

Though last year's best comedy series, The Bear, was a surprise victory, Hacks took first place this year. The Bear won four major awards: Jeremy Allen White for best lead actor in a comedy series, Liza Colón-Zayas for best supporting actress (making history as the first Latina to win the category), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach for best supporting actor. Christopher Storer also took home an award for outstanding directing a comedy series for his work on the show. With 11 Emmys in 2024, The Bear surpassed its previous record of ten from the previous year and became the comedy with the most wins in a single season.

Shogun won four awards, one of which was best drama series. The first Japanese actors to ever win an Emmy were Anna Sawai for best actress in a drama series and Hiroyuki Sanada for best actor. The award for best director went to Frederick E.O. Toye.

Not only that, but Baby Reindeer won four awards total, including best limited or anthology series. Richard Gadd won two Emmys: one for writing, and one for best actor in a limited or anthology film or television series. His co-star Jessica Gunning won the best supporting actress award in a limited or anthology film or television series.

Billy Crudup won best supporting actor in a drama series for his play on The Morning Show, while Elizabeth Debicki won best supporting actress in a drama series for her work on The Crown. Best supporting actor went to Lamorne Morris for Fargo, and best actress went to Jodie Foster for True Detective: Night Country.

The Traitors unseats long-time champion RuPaul's Drag Race as the top reality competition show, while Last Week Tonight With John Oliver triumphed over Saturday Night Live as the top scripted variety series. The Daily Show took the trophy for best talk show on television.

The best variety special went to Alex Edelman: Just for Us, while the best drama series (writing) went to Slow Horses, written by Will Smith. Best directing for a limited series, anthology series, or feature film went to Steven Zaillian's Ripley.

The 76th annual celebration, which was broadcast live on Lionsgate Play (OTTplay Premium) in India, was hosted by Eugene and Dan Levy.
