In the past, Kangana Ranaut has slammed Alia Bhatt and her family for promoting nepotism in Bollywood. Here’s what she says now after this news development.
69th National Film Awards: Kangana Ranaut feels ‘art is subjective’ after losing out Best Actress to Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon.

Earlier in the day, multiple news reports suggested that either Alia Bhatt or Kangana Ranaut would bag the National Award under the Best Actress category. Diffusing the speculations, the Government of India today evening confirmed that Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon have become joint winners of the Best Actress Award for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Mimi’ respectively.
In view of this development, Kangana Ranaut has penned a sweet message for all her fans and well-wishers on Instagram Stories. In it, the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress wrote, “Congratulations to all the winners of National Awards 2023. It is such an art carnival that brings all the artists across the country together... It's truly magical to know and to get introduced to so much important work that's happening across all languages...”
She expressed further whether she felt unhappy knowing that her film Thalaivii did not win any prestigious award. “All of you who are disappointed that my film Thalaivii didn't win any... please know I am eternally grateful for whatever Lord Krishna gave and didn't give me. All of you who really love and appreciate me must appreciate my perspective as well... Art is subjective, and I truly believe that the jury did their best... I wish everyone the best. Hare Krishna.”
This development is difficult to digest, especially for the hardcore fans of Kangana Ranaut and Alia Bhatt. Historically speaking, Kangana Ranaut in the past has slammed Alia Bhatt and her family multiple times for promoting nepotism in Bollywood.
A month ago, Kangana even took a dig at Alia-Bhatt-and-Ranbir-Kapoor’s relationship and addressed them as a ‘farzi’ couple.
In 2017, Kangana Ranaut appeared on the fifth season of the chat show Koffee with Karan and accused Karan Johar of being the 'flagbearer of nepotism". Karan, for the uninitiated, launched Alia Bhatt in Bollywood with the movie Student of the Year in 2012.
Alia Bhatt is the daughter of producer Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. As on date, Alia is happily married to actor Ranbir Kapoor with whom she has a child named Raha.
