2024 has been a fantastic year for Telugu cinema, with blockbusters like Pushpa 2 and Lucky Baskhar setting new records at the box office. However, some films defied expectations and became surprise hits. At OTTplay, we take a look at five sleeper hits of 2024. Check out the list below.
Kiran Abbavaram's KA was not anticipated to perform well, given his recent string of flops. However, this village drama surprised everyone by grossing over ₹50 crore at the box office. KA is now streaming on ETV Win.
Committee Kurrollu featured an all-newcomer cast and was produced by Niharika Konidela under the direction of Yedu Vamsi. Despite its modest ₹10 crore budget, the film grossed ₹25 crore, becoming one of 2024’s biggest sleeper hits. You can watch it on ETV Win.

Aay stars Narne Nithin, the brother-in-law of star hero Jr NTR, alongside fresh faces. Produced by Bunny Vas for under ₹5 crore, the film grossed over ₹16 crore at the box office. Aay is available for streaming on Netflix.
Backed by Rana Daggubati, 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu is a family drama starring Nivetha Thomas. Though it performed decently in theaters, a lucrative OTT deal with Aha resulted in solid profits. The film is currently streaming on Aha.
The sequel to the hit Mathu Vadalara, Mathu Vadalara 2 had a slow start but gained momentum, thanks to Satya’s hilarious performance. The film eventually grossed over ₹30 crore. You can stream it now on Netflix.
Gaami, which was in development for seven years, finally hit screens in 2024. Made on a shoestring budget of ₹2 crore, it raked in over ₹13 crore. This unique, new-age film starring Vishwak Sen and Chandini Chowdary is now streaming on Zee5.
