Farhana:
Farhana, written and directed by Nelson Venkatesan, promises to be an engaging social thriller. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, the film stars Aishwarya Rajesh. The story revolves around Farhana, a Muslim woman belonging to a deeply conservative family. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she becomes involved with a sex chat call centre and makes a fateful judgmental error. This pivotal incident sets in motion a series of events that challenges Farhana's beliefs, expose societal prejudices, and explore the consequences of her choices. The movie also stars Selvaraghavan, Aishwarya Dutta, Jithan Ramesh, and Anumol in the supporting roles.
Farhan will debut on SonyLIV on June 16.
Pichaikkaran 2:
Pichaikkaran 2 is the sequel to Pichaikkaran, one of the biggest hits in Vijay Antony's career. Defying the trade predictions, the movie took a huge opening both in Tamil Nadu and the Telugu states and made profits for its producers. Antony also wrote, directed, produced and acted in the movie. The story revolves around Vijay Gurumoorthy, a wealthy individual driven by a noble cause: eradicating poverty in India. In a bold move, he decides to give up his entire fortune to fulfill his mission. However, this selfless act triggers a rebellion within his own company, leading to his presumed assassination.
Pichaikkaran 2 will premiere on Disney+Hotstar on June 17.
Raavana Kottam:
Judging from the trailer, the plantation of Seema Karuvela Maram, Gum Arabic tree, plays a central role in the movie set against a vibrant rural life. Written and directed by Vikram Sugumaran, the movie seems to hark back to the Tamil cinema's formulaic approach to making movies set in the countryside. It also seems to have a strong undercurrent of politics and violence stemming from greed and caste prejudices. The movie stars Shanthnu in the lead and Prabhu and Anandhi in the supporting roles.
Raavana Kottam debuts on Amazon Prime Video on June 16.
Extraction 2:
The sequel to the popular Netflix hit action thriller, Extraction 2 marks the return of Chris Hemsworth to play Tyler Rake, a black-market mercenary and former Australian Special Air Service Regiment soldier. After barely surviving his last mission, Tyler takes on a more challenging mission. However, this time, there seems to be a personal angle to Tyler's mission. The trailer promised a non-stop supply of thrilling action sequences, prompting many fans to request Netflix to give this movie a limited theatrical release. Helmed by Sam Hargrave, the movie stars Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt, Tinatin Dalakishvili and Idris Elba.
Extraction 2 debuts on Netflix on June 16.
Good Night:
Good Night trailer hints at memorable feel-good drama. The movie revolves around Mohan, played by K Manikandan. He seems satisfied living the middle-class dream with his routine life, where he cherishes his loving family and relies on his regular paycheck. However, a seemingly innocuous problem threatens to disrupt his peaceful existence: snoring. What may initially appear as a minor annoyance soon transforms into a significant issue that puts everything he holds dear at risk, including his new marriage. The movie also stars Meetha Raghunath, Ramesh Thilak, Bucks and Balaji Shakthivel.
Good Night is likely to become available for streaming on Disney+Hotstar on June 17. An official confirmation, however, is awaited.
