44th International Chess Olympiad: Vignesh Shivan thanks AR Rahman and Udhayanidhi Stalin for helping him showcase the Tamil heritage at the inaugural

Vignesh Shivan is basking in the accolades coming his way for the brilliant show that he conceptualised and directed, which was staged at the 44th International Chess Olympiad inaugural on Thursday evening. The Olympiad is being held in Chennai and India for the first time, and the inaugural function was held last evening where the show, that delved into the Tamil heritage was showcased.

Vignesh Shivan, who shared a series of pictures from the making of the show and the final performance, called it a picture to remember. He also thanked Udhayanidhi Stalin, who helped put up an event of such scale and AR Rahman, who composed the music for the Chess Anthem. 

Taking to his social media page, Vignesh Shivan wrote, "A pic to remember! The intention of @Udhaystalin sir to put up a grand mass event started when he asked our @arrahman sir to do an anthem for this Olympiad❤️ Frm there till today this honest support has been everything about putting TN in the world map❤️ thank u #UdhayAnna ❤️🙏🏼💐 (sic)." 

He added, "Thank U for the opportunity & all the support from day 1🙏🏼 ur intention , interest & efforts to make this event at great standards made all the difference! Honoured & humbled to be given such a big opportunity! Gratitude extends to all the Govt.Officials for all the support 🙏🏼💐 (sic)."

He also stated that Superstar Rajinikanth, who was present at the event, appreciated him for his efforts and also called him after the event. "An event to remember ❤️😇 thank U superstar @rajinikanth sir for the appreciation in person during the event & the phone call immediately after the event 😇☺️ Was the Happiest to hear ur voice & compliments abt the Olympiad event! U being there made the day even more beautiful 😍 (sic)."
