The 44th Blue Dragon Awards, originating way back in 1963, held its latest ceremony at KBS Hall, on Nov. 24, 2023. This year as well, it has successfully honored the rich diversity of Korean Cinema.

The 2023 edition of the Blue Dragon Film Awards, which began as early as 1963, was held in Yeouido’s KBS hall this year, on November 24. The star-studded event was a glamorous yet classical celebration of the diverse cinematic landscape of South Korea. Exceptional performances by its hosts and guest performers ensured a vibrant and lively event for all.
The Blue Dragon Awards ensures fairness and appreciation of all notable Korean films that were released in the previous year. This year, organized by Sports Chosun, the ceremony was hosted by the legendary Kim Hye Soot, for the 30th and last time, and Yoo Yeo Seok, for the sixth year in a row.

Best Supporting Actor- Jo In Sung for Smugglers

Best Music- Chang Gi Ha for Smugglers
Best Cinematography and Lighting- The Night Owl
Best Film Editing- The Night Owl
Technical Award- The Moon
Audience Choice Award (Most Popular Film)- The Roundup: No Way Out
Popularity Award- Song Joong Ki, Kim Seon Ho, Park Bo Young, Jo In Sung
Best Short Film- Ghwa the Last Name for Yoo Jaein
Best New Director- Ahn Taejin for The Night Owl
Best New Actor- Hong Xabin for Hopeless
Best New Actress- Go Min Si for Smugglers
Host Kim Hye Soo also earned a special award for hosting the event since 1993. Best Actress winner Jung Yoo Mi also concluded her victory speech by expressing her admiration for the senior actress and wished her success in future ventures.
