Debutant filmmaker Vignesh Raja's serial killer drama Por Thozhil is one of the most awaited releases in the OTT space. The movie will become available for streaming more than two months after its initial theatrical launch. A taut procedural drama garnered a lot of critical acclaims and even clicked with the family aduiences. The underlying theme of parenthood and its critical role in shaping a healthy society seems to have helped the movie to find an audience beyond the genre divide. The movie stars R. Sarathkumar, Ashok Selvan and Nikhila Vimal in the lead roles.

Por Thozhil will start streaming on SonyLIV on August 11

Maaveeran:

It won't be wrong to say Maaveeran is a game-changer in the budget-friendly superhero movie category. Filmmaker Madonne Ashwin's cleverness in dealing with ambitious ideas in more compressed and cost-effective conditions is on full display in this movie. The movie revolves around Sivakarthikeyan's Sathya, a cowardly comic artist. After a botched-up suicide attempt, Sathya develops a special power that forces him to face his own fears and flaws. Sathya becomes a 'great warrior' after he develops the willingness to die for the common good. The movie also stars Aditi Shankar, Saritha, Mysskin, Yogi Babu and Sunil play supporting roles.

Heart of Stone:

Heart of Stone comes straight from Netflix's stable of a globe-trotting spy thriller. And one of the highlights of the movie is it stars Alia Bhatt in a key role. Judging from the trailer, it seems Alia Bhatt is playing the villain, who is determined to control a piece of hardware that puts her in charge of the world. It must be fun to watch Alia play a power-hungry and stone-hearted antagonist. The story revolves around an international spy agency, which doesn't have allegiance to any one particular country or ideology. The agency works to prevent any incidents that threaten the peace of the world. The action-drama is headlined by Gal Gadot and also stars Jamie Dornan, Sophie Okonedo, and Matthias Schweighöfer.

Heart of Stone debuts on Netflix on August 11.

Padmini:

If you are in the mood for feel-good drama, then Padmini might just fit the bill. Filmmaker Senna Hegde is fast gaining a lot of attention for his ability to make Wes Anderson-esque, colourful comedy movies with razor-sharp one-liners and quirky characters. Helmed by Senna Hegde, the movie feels like a satire on love, marriage and everything in between. The relationship issues and the court's role in setting them take centre stage in this comedy, which features a talented ensemble including Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Madonna Sebastian and Vincy Aloshious.

Padmini will start streaming on Netflix on August 11.
