Ramji Rao Speaking (1989)
The film was the directorial debut of Siddique along with Lal. Scripted by the directors themselves, the movie is a comedy thriller and revolves around two unemployed young men, Balakrishnan and Gopalakrishnan, who are always at loggerheads with one another. They receive a phone call from a group of kidnappers asking for ransom. How the two then make a plan to double-cross the kidnappers forms the rest of the story. Devoid of any superstars, the film is a must-watch for its memorable characters and clever comedic lines.
Godfather (1991)
Like Francis Ford Coppola's Godfather, Malayalam Godfather also decorates an important place in Mollywood. The film was the third directorial venture of the Siddique-Lal duo and is considered as one of the greatest comedies in Malayalam. The script of the movie mixes up the right amount of comedy, drama, action, and romance and has a high repeat value among the audience. The film narrates the story of two rival families and how the love affair between two young people affects this rivalry.
In Harihar Nagar (1990)
In Harihar Nagar is a comedy thriller film directed by Siddique-Lal, featuring Mukesh, Siddique, Jagadeesh, and Ashokan. The movie revolves around 4 unemployed bachelors and their attempts to woo a woman but soon after, their friendship with the girl puts them all in deep trouble. It is a simple story with iconic lines and hilarious situations. In Harihar Nagar, hysterical comedy is at its best when compared to all other Siddique-Lal movies.
Friends (1999)
Friends was one of the more memorable 'solo' movies of Siddique following his split with Lal. Produced by Lal, Friends tells the story of Aravindan, Chandhu, and Joy, who value friendship more than anything else. Later Aravindan falls in love with a woman which affects the relationship between the three friends. The film features Jayaram, Mukesh, Sreenivasan, and Jagathy in the main roles. Hilarious situational comedy is the hallmark of Friends like any other Siddique movie. The film was also remade into Tamil starring Vijay and Suriya.
