Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s classic romantic drama ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ celebrates its 25th anniversary today.

One of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's classic films 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' has completed 25 years of release today, on June 18, 2024. The film stars Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Ajay Devgn in the lead roles. To celebrate the film's 25th anniversary, the makers of the film shared multiple videos on social media which made us all nostalgic.
Sharing the behind the scenes of the film in a video, Bhansali Productions wrote - "Here’s a peek into the making of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam ❤ Celebrating 25 years of love, laughter, and legacy! #25YearsOfHumDilDeChukeSanam"
Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is based on Rashtriyashayar Jhaverchand Meghani's play Shetal ne Kathe and showcases the story of a newly-wed man who discovers that his wife is in love with another man and decides to unite them.
The makers also shared a post that has BTS pictures from the sets that made us all nostalgic. They captioned it - "Relive the magic and romance as we go behind the scenes with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the team of this iconic love story "
Bhansali Productions also shared the classic video of the 'Nimbooda' song from the film and wrote: "With the tune that always plays in our hearts, the unending charms of Nandini, and the beautiful choreography by the legendary Saroj Ji, our love for Nimbooda lives on forever"
When the film was released in the year 1999, the film emerged as a commercial success as well as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of the year. Apart from Salman, Aishwarya, and Ajay, the film also features Vinay Pathak, Helen, Vikram Gokhale, and Sheeba Chaddha in key roles. The film is still known for its outstanding performances, a compelling narrative filled with heartbreaks, and the classic songs including 'Chand Chupa Badal Mein', 'Nimbooda', 'Dholi Taaro Dhol Baaje', and 'Aankhon Ki Gustakhoiyan'.
