Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, a forever fan-favorite musical romance drama, directed by Karan Johar, turned 23 today, December 14. Starring an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Hrithik Roshan, the film has captured the hearts of fans not only for its gripping plot but also for engaging music. As the film completed 23 years of its release, KJo shared a heartwarming note on his social media account.

Karan Johar took to his Instagram account and shared some stills of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The pictures feature various angles of the cast members even some behind-the-scenes.

Sharing the pictures, he wrote, "23 years!!! Phew...truly one of those pinch me moments - right now & even back then...being on set with these legends!! It was my second film as a director and I think I was immensely fortunate that this magnanimous cast and the entire crew put in so much faith in me to deliver khushi & gham in abundance!"

The filmmaker cheered the audience and added, "Biggest shout out goes to the audience...the fans...our family - who continue to watch our film and recite every dialogue, dance on every song and keep this film alive in its truest sense...THANK YOU! 23 years of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham."

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham plot

The film follows Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan). He is the adoptive son of business magnate Yash Raichand (Amitabh Bachchan). However, when Yash does not approve of his love of Anjali (Kajol), Rahul marries her and moves to London with his new wife and sister-in-law, Pooja (Kareena Kapoor), breaking the heart of his mother (Jaya Bachchan). Ten years later, Rahul's younger brother (Hrithik Roshan) arrives in London to get the family back together with the help of Pooja.
