Remember Johnny Lever's iconic role as Aslam Bhai? Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, a 2001 release, features this unforgettable character and the popular song. The film has completed 23 years since its release and features an ensemble cast including Aftab Shivdasani, Twinkle Khanna, Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan, and Fardeen Khan. If you're considering revisiting the film, you can currently stream it on Prime Video, ShemarooMe (OTTplay Premium), and Lionsgate Play (OTTplay Premium).

Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega plot synopsis

In the film, the marriage of Prakash (Saif Ali Khan), a troubled young businessman, to the daughter (Sonali Bendre) of a wealthy businessman (Dalip Tahi) brings him much joy. However, his father-in-law's disapproval prevents him from being involved in the business. Prakash intends to abduct his wife, then free her to win him over. Once actual kidnappers are involved, though, everything goes horribly wrong.

Parallelly, Aaj Kapoor (Snehal Dabi) tricks gangster Aslam Bhai (Johnny Lever) into thinking he can get A.R. Rahman, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Karan Johar to collaborate on a project since he has connections in the Bollywood industry.

The film features Paresh Rawal as the narrator, with Vishal Bhardwaj composing the music and Abbas Tyrewala writing the lyrics.

Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega is the Hindi remake of the 1993 Telugu film Money. Nitin Manmohan and Ram Gopal Varma produced the 2001 criminal comedy, while Eeshwar Nivas directed it.

Twinkle Khanna's last acting role

Prior to her marriage to Akshay Kumar and subsequent retirement as an actor, this film was Twinkle Khanna's last acting performance. In contrast to the original, the film received poor reviews upon its debut on June 29, 2001, and went on to become a financial disaster. Supposedly inspired by the American black comedy Fargo, Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment owns the rights to this film.

Earlier this year, Sonali Bendre, in an interview with India Forums, revealed that she would like to revisit Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega. The actor stated that during filming, which co-starred Saif, she had a great time. Sonali enjoyed letting her comedy side shine through in this role. They were allowed a lot of creative leeway, which added to the fun of filming it. Therefore, a re-release or screening of that film could be highly beneficial. This would provide her with an opportunity to experience the film, enabling her to determine its worthiness. If a screening were to take place, the actor would gladly attend.
