Nuvvu Naaku Nachav is one among Venkatesh’s most celebrated comedies in his career. The film, which marked the debut of (late) Aarthi Agarwal, was written by Trivikram and directed by K Vijaya Bhaskar. The entertainer released in theatres on September 6, 2001, exactly 22 years ago, to fabulous responses and earned cult status over two decades after umpteen telecasts on television and arrival on OTT.
The film was produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore under Sri Sravanthi Movies in collaboration with Suresh Productions. The production house celebrated the film’s 22nd release anniversary by adding, “Devuda..o manchi Devuda. Thank you for giving us #NuvvuNaakuNachav. Celebrating 22 glorious years Of the evergreen BlockBuster today. #22YearsOfCultClassicNNN.”
While most of the fans rekindled their memories associated with the Venkatesh starrer, one was taken by surprise with their demand to re-release the film in theatres again. Trivikram’s dialogues, Koti’s refreshing album, the memorable performances and the fine balance between family drama, humour, romance continue to captivate viewers even today.
Will the production houses pay heed to the fan’s requests after all? In terms of commercial potential, there’s every reason to believe that Nuvvu Naaku Nachav will draw crowds again. The huge advantage for the film would be its appeal among family crowds beyond youngsters. If planned well, it could prove to be a money spinner for the distributors.
Prithvi, Asha Saini, Prakash Raj, Chandra Mohan, Suhasini, Brahmanandam, Sunil, MS Narayana form the supporting cast of the film which had cinematography by K Ravindra Babu and was edited by A Sreekar Prasad. Some of the popular songs in the film include Aakasam Digi Vachi, Naa Chupe Ninu, O Priyathama and Unna Mata Cheppaneevu. The film is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
From Chiranjeevi to Mahesh Babu to Nagarjuna to Balakrishna, Jr NTR, Pawan Kalyan and Ram Charan, several hit films of the stars re-released to terrific responses at the box office again. It’s high time that a Venkatesh film joined the list too.
