Cashing in on the craze, megastar Chiranjeevi starred in a film titled Indra, which was directed by B Gopal, the specialist in action drama.

Indra, which was released on July 24, 2002, completed 22 years and is trending on social media. Indra also has a Kalki 2898 AD connection as it was produced by Aswini Dutt, who made the Prabhas starrer. Indra was a smash hit at the box office and was the costliest film in Chiranjeevi's career during that time.
Aswini Dutt spent a lot of money on the film, which had the late Aarthi Aggarwal as the female lead. She saw superstardom after working in Indra. Chiranjeevi's ferocious performance was one of the highlights of this film, and his look, dialogue, and screen presence are discussed even today by his fans and cinema lovers.
Indra to re-release on August 22, 2024
Indra was made on a budget of Rs 10 crores and made a whopping Rs 55 crore at the box office. Indra was also subject to a lot of trolls, as fans of Balakrishna; even today, troll Chiranjeevi that no one comes near to Balakrishna when it comes to acting in faction dramas. But Indra was a solid hit and took Chiranjeevi's stardom to the next level.
Chinni Krishna penned the script for this film which had music by Mani Sharma. Well, the special aspect of the film is that the film will be re-released on August 22, 202,4 which also marks the birthday of Chiranjeevi. Massive plans are being made for the re-release of this film.
