22 years have passed since the release of Dil Hai Tumhaara. Preity Zinta and Rekha starred in Kundan Shah's romantic drama film in 2002, with Alok Nath, Jimmy Sheirgill, Arjun Rampal, and Mahima Chaudhry filling supporting roles. The film is definitely an underrated gem, although it bombed at the box office upon its initial release. However, Zinta received critical acclaim and Best Actress nominations for her portrayal of the lead role. If you're planning to revisit this hidden gem on OTT, it's currently streaming on Prime Video and ShemarooMe (OTTplay Premim).
Shalu, played by Zinta, is a young woman who, little does she know, was born into a broken family and reluctantly adopted by her father's wife (Rekha), who has never truly loved her and whose affection she has yearned for ever since she was a little girl. Meanwhile, the rivalry between half-sisters Shalu and Nimmi (Mahima Chaudhry) goes next-level when their mother arranges marriage for one with a businessman (Rampal) that the other loves.

The 2000 sleeper hit Kya Kehna was Preity Zinta and Kundan Shah's first collaboration; Dil Hai Tumhaara was their second.
The Nadeem-Shravan score was a commercial success, with Sameer penning the lyrics. Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu, and Udit Narayan provide the vocals for Zinta, Rampal, and Sheirgill, respectively, in the majority of the tracks. Some of the other artists on the album are Sonu Nigam, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shaan, Sarika Kapoor, and Tauseef Akhtar.
According to Box Office India, the soundtrack album for this film was the sixth-best-selling album of the year, with around 20,000 units sold. Hadiqa Kiani's Boohay Barian and Dil Laga Liya Maine share the same musical structure.
Critics were divided on Dil Hai Tumhaara, but none could deny Zinta's superb performance. Even the film's detractors acknowledged her as the film's shining moment.
