Jude Anthany Joseph, the popular director established himself as one of the most sought-after talents of Indian film industry with the massive success of his survival thriller, 2018. Along with the massive commercial success, 2018 also earned rave reviews and emerged as India’s official submissions to the Oscars 2024. Meanwhile, director Jude Anthany Joseph is gearing up to direct his next project, a period investigative thriller.
Jude Anthany Joseph opens up about his next project
In a recent chat with Variety, the 2018 director confirmed that he is set to kickstart the pre-production of his upcoming project, very soon. Jude Anthany Joseph confirmed that the project, revolves around the disappearance of Kerala Shipping Corporation’s cargo ship MV Kairali that disappeared in 1979 along with its 49 crew members and 20,000 tones of iron ore. According to the filmmaker, the untitled project is expected to go on floors by the end of 2024.
Jude Anthany Joseph stated that it is very fascinating to learn about the mystery surrounding the MV Kairai cargo ship, and the historical impotance of this incident. He also revealed that it is an extremely challenging subject to execute as a filmmaker, as the investigations on the disappearance of the ship never succeeded.
However, the makers are yet to finalise the cast and crew of the untitled project. If things go as planned, director Jude Anthany Joseph and his team will officially launch the much-awaited period investigation thriller, once the script, star cast, and technical crew are officially locked.
Jude Anthany Joseph’s career
The talented filmmaker made his directorial debut in 2014 with the blockbuster romantic comedy Ohm Shanthi Oshaana, which features Nazriya Nazim and Nivin Pauly in the lead roles. Jude Anthany Joseph later made a mark with his next two outings, Oru Muthassi Gadha and Sara’s which ended up as average grossers at the box office. However, he made a strong comeback to the success track in 2018, which is based on Kerala’s fight against the floods. Jude, who made his acting debut with the 2015-released blockbuster Premam, is also active in his career as an actor with some promising projects.
