Directed by Sarthak Dasgupta, the gripping film is about how 200 Dalit women united and took law and justice into their own hands by lynching a gangster, robber and serial rapist in open court.

The film uncovers the shocking events and circumstances that led the 200 women to take drastic steps to seek justice. the trailer features all the leading characters namely Amol Palekar, Barun Sobti, Rinku Rajguru, Sahil Khattar, Saloni Batra, Indraneil Sengupta and Upendra Limaye.

In a statement, director Sarthak Dasgupta said that 200 - Halla Ho! is not a film for him but a shoulder that he gives to the movement towards social equality.

The filmmaker needed to convey to the audience that women should be treated equally and that Dalits’ lives matter too.

Sarthak said that 200 is about those Dalit women who despite getting socially marginalised, molested, tortured and mortified, take law into their own hands to punish the person who was responsible for ruining their lives. He revealed that the film addresses the debate whether they were right or they were wrong.

Dasgupta hopes that this film will add voice to the social change that is so needed in society.

With this film, veteran actor Amol Palekar will be making his comeback in the movies after many years. While comedian Sahil will be seen in an out-and-out negative role which is definitely a never-seen-before avatar for him.

200 - Halla Ho! is produced by Yoodlee Films and is set to stream on ZEE5 from August 20, 2021.
