20 years of Andaaz: Lara Dutta pens a special note for co-stars Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar

In 2000, Lara Dutta Bhupathi and Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared the title of Miss Universe, with the actress winning the title of Miss Universe and Chopra winning Miss World. Additionally, the two women made their professional debuts with one another in the 2003 film Andaaz, which also starred Akshay Kumar. Lara penned an emotional note in which she reminisced about her acting debut and opened up about her friendship with Akshay and Priyanka.

Lara Dutta Bhupathi took to Instagram to share a poster of Andaaz and she wrote, “And just like that…….. it’s been 20 years!!! What an incredible, exhilarating journey!!! Always grateful! ????. First of all to the audience and fans! To @suneeldarshan for offering me my first film and being the wonderful, cultured, caring person he is. My dearest Raj ji for being the most patient teacher. My forever most handsome, most fun , always there for me, @akshaykumar For just being who he is!!!"

Lara Dutta also commemorated the 23 years since she won Miss Universe one week earlier. She wrote, “On this day, 23 years ago! Moment etched in our hearts forever! 12th May, 2000 the universe welcomed its first Miss Universe of the new millennium with our Miss Universe 2000, @larabhupathi. Happy Crowniversary, Queen. We love you!”
