2 Broke Girls star Kat Dennings marries singer Andrew W.K. in the backyard of their house

Actress Kat Dennings is no longer on the dating married. She married boyfriend Andrew W.K. in their LA home’s backyard, in a very private ceremony on November 27, this year, but had not shared the news till today. Releasing the news on her Instagram as well as via an exclusive interview with Vogue magazine, the Thor: The Dark World actress shared details about her DIY wedding.

The happy couple had chosen to do all wedding planning and preparation on their own, ranging from handmaking wedding florals to doing her own wedding makeup. Bride Dennings confessed, “I wanted our wedding to feel completely different from an ‘industry event’ in every way.” She further disclosed how she herself made all her wedding florals, aisle pieces, and ceremony arch, which took “three entire days.”

The inspiration for such an intimate wedding, comprising of only fifteen people, was no coincidence. The actress recalled that the two of them had “actually proposed to each other in the kitchen at the exact same moment” after getting to know each other properly, when Andrew came to visit her three years ago. Though the couple had initially begun planning a traditional wedding, they swung between going for a big, fat wedding to a quick elopement, but soon realized neither of the options were suitable for them.

“But in the end, the kitchen engagement moment kept calling back to us. We realized that a small home wedding was too cozy to resist. Plus, all our stuff was there so we wouldn’t have to pack anything.” That being said, the couple decided to do things their own, homely way. Their cozy wedding also saw a few known faces like Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song, which was “the perfect amount,” according to Dennings.
