1920 Horrors of the Heart: Vikram Bhatt is ready with his next horror film

Best known for helming three movies out of four from the Raaz film franchise - which includes Raaz (2002), Raaz 3: The Third Dimension (2012) and Raaz Reboot (2016) - director-producer Vikram Bhatt is back with yet another scary project - the fifth instalment of the 1920 period horror film series.  

On Sunday, the filmmaker took to his Instagram page to share a glimpse of his upcoming venture, titled 1920 Horrors of the Heart. He posted two rather spooky images - one of which looked like a haunted house and the other a mysterious diary. “In the dead of a cold night, when distant howling sounds could be heard, inside a haunted mansion… The pages of an old tattered diary unfurled to tell a frightening tale.. #1920horrorsoftheheart coming soon”, he captioned the pictures.  

1920 Horrors of the Heart is the latest instalment of Vikram’s much talked-about 1920 series of period horror films. The first movie from this franchise was released in 2008. Titled 1920, the movie featured debutant artistes Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma in lead roles. This was followed by 1920: Evil Returns, which was released in 2012, starring Aftab Shivdasani, Tia Bajpai, Vidya Malvade and Sharad Kelkar. This movie was described as a quasi-sequel to the 2008 flick. Then came 1920 London. The 2016 movie was directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. It featured Sharman Joshi, Meera Chopra and Vishal Karwal in lead roles. 1921 released in 2018, starring Zareen Khan and Karan Kundrra. 

Although it is yet to be announced officially, the 2023 instalment of the supernatural film series is directed by Krishna Bhatt, written by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Vikram. 1920 Horrors of the Heart marks the fifth film in the series, and is likely to feature Balika Vadhu fame Avika Gor and Randheer Rai in pivotal roles, alongside Rahul Dev, Danish Pandor, Barkha Sengupta and Ketaki Kulkarni.
