Vishal Bhardwaj treated the audience with his film, Haider, in 2014. Today, October 2, the movie has completed 9 years since its theatrical release. Shahid Kapoor played the titular role in the film. It is considered to be one of his strong and memorable characters. For the unversed, Haider was said to be the modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet.
As Haider clocked 9 years, Shahid Kapoor celebrated this feat. in style. The Bollywood actor shared a special video on his Instagram account to mark this day.
Shahid Kapoor celebrates 9 years of Haider
Shahid Kapoor has been flaunting his new hairdo for a while now. The actor got a buzz cut and it instantly reminded fans of his Haider days. As the film completed 9 years since its release, Kapoor decided to create a special video.
It features Shahid saying the dialogue, 1...2...3... Hello!, from the film and the striking similarities between his new look to that of his Haider character. "#9yearsofHaider (sic)," Shahid captioned his IG story.

Is Haider 2 being made?
Shahid's buzz cut led to speculations of Haider 2 being made. However, a source informed Hindustan Times that there's no development about part 2 of Vishal's film.
"Had Shahid’s buzz cut been for Haider’s sequel, he would be shooting by now. But that’s not possible because Vishal Bhardwaj is going out of the country for a month for personal reasons, and there is no shoot happening at the moment," a source revealed.
On the work front for Shahid Kapoor
Meanwhile, on the work front, Shahid Kapoor has had a fantastic 2023 so far. His web show, Farzi, did extremely well on OTT. He featured in the Raj and DK show with Raashii Khanna. Later, the actor's film, Bloody Daddy, had a digital release. Just like his digital debut project, his OTT film worked wonders. It was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
