Thuppaki helmed by AR Murugadoss has Vidyut Jammwal as the antagonist

It's been a decade since Vijay's action entertainer Thuppakki hit screens and since then the film helmed by AR Murugadoss has emerged as one of the most watched films every time it's aired on television. Vijay played an intelligence officer in the Indian Army who goes on to take down sleeper cells planning bomb blasts across Mumbai. The star cast for the film included Kajal Aggarwal, Vidyut Jammwal, Jayaram, Manobala, Sathyan, Zakir Hussain to name a few.
Now, Vijay's manager Jagadish has revealed that it was due to Thuppaki that he met Vijay for the first time and that Pariyerum Perumal actor Kathir was almost hit by the cops during the FDFS of the film. Taking to his social media handle, he wrote, "The first time I met Vijay na n interacted with him was because of #Thuppakki. Vijay na’s character being named as Jagdish. I still remember the FDFS, how @am_kathir n I were almost hit by cops as the crowd was uncontrollable. #10YearsOfThuppakki Thank u @ARMurugadoss sir (sic)."
Kathir had stated in a number of conversations that he was a huge fan of the actor. He later went on to share screen space with him in the sports drama Bigil, which was helmed by Atlee.
Producer Kalaippuli Thanu, too, thanked the entire team for the success of the film. "My heartfelt thanks to Thalapathi @actorvijay, director @ARMurugadossnand the entire team, for the earth shattering success of #Thuppakki @Jharrisjayaraj, @santoshsivan @VidyutJammwal #10YearsOfThuppakki (sic)."
Music for the film was by Harris Jayaraj and the songs were chartbusters. While the cinematography was by Santosh Sivan, editing was by A Sreekar Prasad. The film also marked the comeback of Vijay as a singer with the song, 'Google Google' after a long gap of seven years. The film was a huge hit at the box office and a milestone in Vijay's career.
