We have ashes as offerings (2021) is the first production of Lucas Tétry-Rivière, a young artist from the Indian Ocean, born in Réunion. Currently living in Paris, they went back many times for three years to Bras-Panon, a small town located on the eastern side of the island, where their maternal grandmother lives. With only few resources (a camera and phone), they took the plunge and set for themself the goal of establishing their family’s first digital archive, through oral stories and the everyday life of their grandmother, Reine Tétry, born as a subject of the French State in 1925.
