Roopesh Peethambaran's story depicts an investigation taking place when an auto-rickshaw driver is found untraceable and murdered. However, Harsha, being the murderer and with unresolved issues during the years is out of conviction, despite the suspicion from the police. This Malayalam film is an action thriller directed by Roopesh Peethambaran with Dalquer Salmaan in the lead, which was released in 2012. Dalquer acted as Harsha in this film, who has an immense hatred towards the legal system due to his past. The film goes to and fro with the present and past that took place five years back. This Malayalam movie got dubbed in Tamil as Aaththiram and in Hindi with the original name to be released in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Theevram had to face dubbing controversies when the director in an interview discloses about the dubbing version in Tamil, which was made without his consent. While the producer, V.C. Ismayil, claims that no such rules are related to taking the director's permission, Roopesh is simply upset with the outcome of the Tamil version stating that it was of poor quality.
